A wall plug is a type of dowel that enables the attached of a screw in brittles or porous materials that might not support the weight of the object with just a nail, screw or other adhesives. There are many types of wall plugs, but the most widely used one has a tapered tube of soft plastic material. There are many types of wall plugs but they are all categorised by their size, with 6mm, 7mm and 10mm being the most common. Wall plugs are used in any application that required the attachment of materials to surface which might not support weight on its own.
