Although heating pumps can be a component of many kinds of machinery, they are also part of a temperature control ventilation and dehumidifier system which comes under the umbrella term of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (or HVAC). They work on the principle of convection controlling air flow via a network of pipes or ducting so that air removed from a room will be replaced by air from elsewhere.
