Hydraulic Switches
Hydraulic switches are different from others in that they use a piston instead of a diaphragm. In the hydraulic system, the transducer measures pressure and sends a signal to the switch unit. This component is set to identify ascending pressure, descending pressure or multiple pressure points. The message is then converted into electrical energy. This way, it is able to handle different pressure levels. There are a variety of switches in the system. The pressure switch is the most crucial for ensuring the machinery has power to work. They can be gauge pressure switches which use a diaphragm with a spring to activate when the set point has been reached. Another type is the differential pressure switch which compares the relative pressure between two points. A vacuum pressure switch compares the pressure between the vacuum and the process pressure while the gauge to vacuum switch has elements of both types. Other switches are responsible for monitoring the temperature, the hydraulic oil, the liquid flow and fuel system. Switches are key components of the hydraulic system and are parts of all machinery or pieces of equipment driven by this pressure. They are of interest to anyone who works in construction, mining, industry or with pump-driven irrigation.
