Micrometers
A micrometer is often known as a micrometer screw gauge, and it is a device that has a calibrated screw that is used to obtain precise measurements of different components. Micrometers types include laser, bore, depth and inside micrometers which all serve to measure in different ways – examining inside holes, gauging depth, or by measuring inside radiuses. Micrometers are also available in digital type, whereby the micrometer uses an encoder to detect the distance and displays the result on a digital screen. They are used because of their measuring accuracy. Industries that use laser micrometers include engineering, metallurgy, metrology, and the wire and cable industry.
