Materials engineering is associated with the design and discovery of new materials with particular attention to solid materials. Discovery of new materials is a huge achievement and works toward the growth and stability of the human population. Material engineers can work and analyse all different types of materials, from metals to plastic and they must have the ability to work with materials in their purest form to their most detailed. Materials engineers will work with other engineers from electrical engineers to chemical engineers to assist in the development of products designed with a specific purpose. Many different industries and sectors can benefit from the knowledge and expertise of a material engineer. These engineers can be involved in the design of temporary facilities until a construction is finished, understand the needs of the client and ensure resources are available to ensure the smooth running of the construction work.
