Non-Destructive Testing Services
Non-destructive testing services allows the properties of materials, components or systems to be analysed, tested or evaluated without having to damage the serviceability of the sample in question. This means that it can be examined while still in operation or be brought back into service afterwards. This is in contrast with destructive testing, which will test a sample to its breaking point. The immediate value to industry of non-destructive testing (also known as non-destructive examination (NDE), inspection (NDI) or evaluation (NDE)) is that this type of analysis neither damages nor alters the sample, so it saves time and money in product evaluation, trouble-shooting and research. There are many sophisticated analysis techniques used in the science and technology industry to carry out NDE. The techniques involved are extensively used across a range of engineering disciplines, including the mechanical, civil and systems engineering industries. It is also utilised in construction to ensure the quality of materials, joining processes and so on during the fabrication and erection phases of a building.

Format NDT Ltd
View company profileWe offer an extensive variety of non-destructive testing techniques and services including magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic inspection, liquid penetration inspection, and positive material identification.
Magnetic particle inspection is used for locating surface or near to surface discontinuities in ferromagnetic material, raw materials or finished products. Magnetically charged particles highlight the form of the discontinuity and indicate its location, size and shape.
