This is the Apex developed strategy for standardising programs & validation. Structured levels to suit the customer we guide CMM Programmers how to write programs so that they are concise and can be read by other CMM Programmers.

As the majority of CMM’s are used within a production environment we provide Breakdown Cover and prioritise when a prompt response is required.

We can prepare the equipment for relocation, supervise the transport using our approved Lift/Shift Transport companies & recommission the equipment at the new location. The preparation for transport is critical to ensure no damage is done to the equipment and our engineers take care to secure it correctly

As requirements and ability of workers to be absent from work increases, Apex can provide skilled engineers to offer cover. Our regular, diverse client applications experience means that our engineers are effective in a very short period. We have covered most sectors including; Aerospace, Oil, Automotive, Defence, Medical.

Our Accredited Applications Engineers complete training to content preferred by you. Where practical we use your parts for familiarisation and problem solving, however a range of training blocks are available if preferred. Courses can be at your premises or ours, if they are at ours there will be no other companies attending, this keeps focus on your requirements, allows a more open dialogue, and maintains confidentiality agreements.

Many inspectors don’t have the luxury of time to create CMM programs, many write programs so infrequently that they forget the required coding, or the inspectors that were trained have left the company. Our Accredited Application Engineers quickly and reliably create good quality programs as they have been using CMM software daily for decades. The programs are normally created offline and are proof run at your Premises, however we can proof run on our CMMs if preferred.

Using the latest Microsoft Teams software we are able to communicate directly with Customers & Engineers in the field. This is used extensively now to deliver remote training in structured 2 hour block’s and also to take control of the system to help diagnose on-site issues. e.g. programming query, configuration issue, service support.

Most CMM’s are structurally in very good condition, and as such they outlive their computer, controller, or software. To extend CMM life and upgrade performance Apex can offer; a choice of retrofit equipment, software, and supply appropriate training.

Using the latest range of Renishaw plc controllers that support the I++ interface standard allows users the flexibility of Metrology Software to be used.

Full Laser Error-Mapping to establish the CMM Geometry is used to provide the best accuracy possible in the environment where the CMM is located.

A vital element of having a reliable CMM is regular maintenance with a Calibration Test to verify the accuracy the CMM performs to. Our industry-trained, UKAS Accredited Support Engineers follow a set procedure for service preventative maintenance and follow industry standards for calibration as defined by ISO10360 and CMMA.

Full checks are completed prior to calibration to ensure the CMM is performing correctly with accuracy testing completed to establish if the current certified accuracy can be achieved. In the event of not achieving the accuracy then our engineers will liaise with eth customer to understand why it is no longer as accurate (e.g. environmental changes). The customer can then accept new accuracy or have it adjusted to previous specification. Changes to the accuracy may affect production processes.

Ensure new or modified CMM Programs conform to the correct interpretation of Datums & Dimensioning. Your company may operate the a highly accurate CMM in terms of its specification however that is worth very little if the CMM Program is poorly written.

Introducing a level of checking, called Validation, is where Apex take the detailed drawing with a part that has been measured and compare data. By evaluating the data we can provide a critique to allow your Programming resource to improve and prove the program is fit for use.
