Each attachment is dual purpose and will either:

both at the front of the components furthest from the collet, and behind a shoulder adjacent to the collet.

The most widely used attachment is mounted on the cross-slide and drives from the main housing. It offers you the scope to manufacture components that call for flats or threads - even two threads at the same pass, which are not necessarily the same pitch or diameter.
