  1. Solar Park Installation With Klauke Products
    10 July 2023

In today's world, solar parks, photovoltaic systems and solar thermal energy are indispensable. Solar energy is one of the renewable energy sources and is characterized, among other things, by lower emissions and high sustainability. Solar plants are also robust and have low maintenance costs. In 2020, photovoltaic systems could save around 34.9 million tons of CO2 in Germany [see source BDEW].

For optimal solar panel efficiency, several factors must interact. One that is often underestimated is the quality and reliability of the electrical connection elements. When it comes to safe and reliable cable connections, Klauke has proven expertise for over 60 years.

In a solar park, Klauke products are needed to connect combiner boxes, inverters and transformers.

    Combiner Box

When connecting a combiner box, it is important to establish a safe connection. This can be achieved with the following products, for example:

EK50MLK 507WFtubular cable lugs Cu standard versioninsulated ferrules according to DIN.

    Inverter

With the mostly prefabricated inverters, effective crimping of aluminium power cables is critical, using compact tools such as the EKM60ID and the bi-metal compression cable lugs (Al/Cu).

    Transformer

For transformers, various applications of electrical connection material come into play. Klauke products for transformer installation are for example: ES 32 ML / ES 32 F MLEK WF 120 MLEK 30 ID MLtubular cable lugs for switch cabinet connections, standard version.

From engineering and design, to customized solutions, manufacturing and services, Klauke is the industry leader in connecting materials and electrical tools. For more information and products for solar farm installations, click here:

  2. International Electrician Day
    10 July 2023

Let’s have a look around us. Is there anything we can do without electricity? From lighting and home appliances we need daily, to healthcare, education, hospitality, transportation, industry and work of almost any kind – everything requires electricity.

Yes, electricity is an essential part of modern life and an important factor in today’s world's well-being. Therefore, it is also highly important to recognize and honour those who help us have easy, safe and secure access to electricity – electricians. These skilled technicians install, maintain or repair our electrical systems, making sure all residential and commercial electrical settings run smoothly.

The International Electrician Day was established in 1986 and it is celebrated annually on June 10th. The date was not chosen randomly, it commemorates the death of the outstanding scientist André Marie Ampère (1775-1836), a French physicist and mathematician, famous for his discoveries in the fields of magnetism, electromagnetism and electricity.

We asked a few electricians to give us a short quote on what they like the most about their job and what are their plans for International Electrician Day. Now we are happy to share with you a few of the replies.

What do you like the most about your job?

"Working with good tools and cool material from Klauke" @robin_r97

"Bringing the light into the dark" - @elektrikergirl

    "Fascination of self-sufficient customers."@cenergy.nord

    "The tools. 🤤 😇" - @elektrotechnik_gallob

How do you plan to spend the International Electrician Day?

"Bachelorette party of an electrician friend. ❤️ " - @elektrikergirl

"Learning for my exam as master of electrical engineering." - @chissi.ly

International Electrician Day is the best occasion to honour, appreciate and praise all the hard-working men and women in the electricity field.

  4. Tester Interview About the EKWF120ML
    8 June 2023

The professional package for control cabinet construction: the EKWF120ML and EK30IDML battery-powered hydraulic crimping tools, which can be used to crimp quickly and safely without changing inserts.

As part of a tester campaign on our Instagram account @klauke.deutschland, we gave away five EKWF120ML and five EK30IDML to electricians who put the tools through their paces.@hummel.elektro@elektro_max and @elektrikergirl answered our questions about the EKWF120ML:

    Helmuth -

Why did you apply to be a tester?

"I applied to be a tester because I was already speculating about buying the tool and I am generally interested in new products. Possibly receiving a device for free was of course also decisive 😉"

Has the tool made your everyday work easier? And which features were particularly worth mentioning?

"I got the EKWF120ML, although I actually preferred to have the EK30IDML. However, it was then surprising that suddenly many areas of application opened up for theEKWF120ML. The 10.8V platform is basically very handy and easy to use. Even our "old hand" in manufacturing, who has been building control cabinets for over 30 years and is one of the last to get excited about new things, was immediately convinced - and that's saying something!"

Are there other Klauke products in use? If so, which ones?

    "We use: EK30IDMLEK50MLES32FMLESM50EK35/4MLEKM60/22, EKM60ID IS, LS50Flex, K507WF, K105, K201, K82, K27/1, K27/2, K28K29K5, K07."

    Maximilian -

Why did you apply to be a tester?

"I knew that I absolutely had to test the tool after Peter presented the EKWF120ML in the Klauke Instagram Live. When you could then apply for the Klauke testers, I knew I had to take part!"

Has the tool made your everyday work easier? And which features were particularly worth mentioning?

"The tool has definitely made my work easier. I like to use it to build distributions. Compared to hand pliers, working is simply more relaxed. Most of the time I work with cross-sections up to 16mm², but even there the EKWF120ML is worthwhile. And if you do work with larger cross-sections, you have the right tool at hand. And that's without having to change inserts.

I particularly like the return stop, because I usually work with one cross section and with that you don't always have to open and close the press completely. In addition, the rotatable head is great because you can also get into tight places."

Do you use other Klauke products? If so, which ones?

"Of course, when it comes to pressing, I rely on Klauke!

I regularly use, or used to use, the Klauke K30/6K, the hand wire end ferrule pliers. Since I have the EKWF120ML, but not quite as often. In addition, I also like to use a small cable cutter from Klauke. In the company we still have the Klauke Micro and some hand pliers, depending on what to press."

    Annika -

Why did you apply to be a tester?

"I applied as a tester because I've always thought Klauke was great and why always complain about old products when you can make constructive suggestions for improvement with the new ones?"

Has the tool made your day-to-day work easier? And which features were particularly worth mentioning?

"It has definitely made my day-to-day work easier, as I always found it annoying to change the press dies for different ferrules. Especially with twin ferrules, you were never sure which press insert to use. With the EKWF120ML, I always have the right press with me. What surprised me the most was, that you no longer have any problems with folding the ferrule, it fits perfectly in/under the clamps."

Do you use other Klauke products? If so, which ones?

"Yes, I use other Klauke products, including the Klauke Micro and the K30/6k."

    Tester Interview About the EKWF120ML
  5. Tester Campaign Testimonial - EK30IDML
    5 May 2023

The professional package for panel building construction is formed out of the Klauke EKWF120ML and EK30IDML battery-powered hydraulic crimping tools. They can be easily used to crimp quickly and safely without changing inserts. Interested in discovering more feedback from the job site? We are excited to share with you the testimonials of three Klauke testers from Instagram who already put the EK30IDML tool to work. Happy reading!

    Felix @wahlfe

Why did you apply to become a tester?

I met Peter Nowak from Klauke at the #LUSTAUFHANDWERK 2021 event in Berlin, and he introduced me to Klauke's battery-powered hydraulic pressing and cutting machines. When I saw that Klauke testers were being sought, I thought I should definitely apply to become a tester.

Did the tool make your everyday work easier? Which features are particularly worth mentioning?

Yes, definitely. The compact design and easy handling made the EK30IDML a great help on some construction sites.

Do you use other Klauke products? If so, which ones?

Yes, a K05, the EK50ML and, of course, a lot of consumables such as wire end ferrules, cable lugs and connectors.

    Christian @elektrotechnik_gallob

Why did you apply to be a tester?

I applied to be a tester because I follow the motto "Work smart, not hard". Every new tool that makes my everyday work, or the work itself, easier, gets my interest. The offer to keep the press was tempting too, because of the regular purchase price. We have to be honest about that.

Did the tool make your everyday work easier? Which features are particularly worth mentioning?

I have been using the EK60UNV-L since 2004 when I started my own business. As already mentioned in the type designation, this hydraulic tool can be used universally - in my case for crimping cable lugs and wire end ferrules from 70mm², round crimping sector conductors and cutting top-hat rails. The big advantages of the EK30IDML over the EK60UNV-L are, on one hand, the size and weight and speed on the other hand. I have to crimp a 120mm² cable lug four times with the EK60UNV-L, while with the  EK30IDML this is done with one crimp.

Are there other Klauke products in use? If so, which ones?

I recently purchased the EKWF120ML crimper. This press tool is THE ANSWER to all my problems. Previously, the ferrules were pressed asymmetrically (trapezoid) and didn’t fit into terminals - all this is history with the EKWF120ML! I can also only report positive things about my beloved Klauke Micro - I have certainly been spared one or the other tendonitis here - not to mention the workflow.

    Christian @Haus_und_Hof_Elektriker

Why did you apply to be a tester?

I wanted to see how much time and work could be saved by not having to change the press inserts.

Did the tool make your everyday work easier? Which features were particularly noteworthy?

Yes, it has. In my case, with pressings of 50 and 95mm², the tool has mainly increased time and labour savings without having to change inserts and carry or lose press inserts. In addition, it is a light crimping tool, even for quick work in between.

Do you use any other Klauke products? If yes, which ones?

Yes, there are several Klauke products I use such as ES 105 Cutting Tool, K05, Ultra ESG 50 (older model), Mini EKM 60/22 (the year 2014), Ultra EK 60/22 and several press inserts.

  7. CNC Turning Center 2023
    9 February 2023

A great start to 2023: modernization at the beginning of the year

To keep the production facility technically up-to-date, Gustav Klauke GmbH has recently invested in a double turning center with 48 tool stations and 4-axis simultaneous machines. Thanks to the three 16X/Y/Z turrets and 11 CNC-programmable Aachens, together with the integrated Collision Avoidance System (CAS), it is now easier for the operator to load the machine, so throughput times are shorter.

The Collision Avoidance System gives an early error warning if something is not right with the machine, or the parts produced. This feature is very beneficial and helps in improving product quality.

In addition to product innovation and quality, customer support is one of our key focuses.

With this recent investment in machinery we are glad we managed to raise our standards even higher while offering a better service for our customers.

  8. UK Apprenticeship Week 2023
    9 February 2023

The UK Apprenticeship Week is an event that takes place in the United Kingdom yearly, since 2007. This year the event got to its 16th edition and it is organized between February 6th and 12th under the theme "Skills For Life". The UK Apprenticeship Week is organized by "Amazing Apprenticeships", a group of experts in apprenticeships and technical education which focuses to ensure that more individuals and businesses can access the benefits of apprenticeships. We support and motivate young people who decide to pursue a career in skilled trades. Throughout the years we met and spoke to various apprentices active in the electrical field and now we are excited to share with you some details related to their careers.

Nick, @nlbselectrical, always wanted to do something practical and he wanted to learn a trade. He got into the electric field after he had an electrician doing some maintenance work in his flat. He entered an apprenticeship program and loved every moment of the training. Nick describes his apprenticeship experience as tiring, interesting, but all in all enjoyable, and he doesn’t see himself doing something else than electrical work in the future.

Nick's advice for somebody who considers following a career in trades:

"Do it. Don’t look back. Even if you don’t like it, you’ve lost nothing. Oh, and find a decent mentor who teaches and challenges you. It’s just a bonus if they’re a laugh to work with."

You can find Nick on Instagram, @nlbselectrical, where he posts challenges, but also rewards of his daily jobs as an electrician.

Michael, @apprentice_electrical_, is 22 years old and is in the 4th year of level 3 electrical apprenticeship. He studied electronics in college and that’s how he chose to follow a career in the electrical field. Michael describes his apprenticeship program as initiative, hardworking, but fully rewarding. In the future, Michael dreams of joining the Royal Engineers as an electrician and do all the military side of electrical installation. We wish him the best of luck!

Michael’s advice for somebody who considers following a career in trades:

"To anyone who's thinking of getting an apprenticeship in the trades: go for it. It’s rewarding, you'll learn a lot of skills most people won't know how to do, as well as making new friends and most have the opportunities to work all over the world."

You can find Michael on Instagram, @apprentice_electrical_, where he posts more details related to his daily activity as an electrician.

A skill thoroughly learned and practiced is a career for a lifetime. We encourage all young people who struggle with career choices to say yes to all opportunities and go "all in" in a skilled trades field.

  9. Cable retraction made easy: It's all about the tape!
    9 February 2023

Anyone who has ever pulled cables into pipes knows that this is a job that can be tricky! The most common sticking point is the cable retractable tape. Either the cables are difficult to guide through bends and corners due to high friction, or where there are cables already, it's too tight. Or the tape becomes permanently deformed when force is applied and may even break, rendering it unusable.

The good news is there's a way for it to be simpler and more elegant! Thanks to Greenlee polyester tapes, typical problems with retracting cables are no longer an issue. This is due to the fact they're very soft and smooth compared to other materials. In this way, cables can be guided easily and safely around corners and through bends. Even if there are already cables in the pipe, polyester tapes make your work easy and efficient thanks to their exceptionally smooth surface.

Passes through everywhere and does not break: It's the Greenlee polyester tape!

Every time a little more force is required to guide the cable retraction tape through the pipe, there's a risk that we all know only too well: With standard materials, the retraction tape can permanently buckle or even break. If the user pulls hard, this almost automatically bends the tape in one direction.

Polyester tape is clearly the superior alternative here since it's virtually indestructible. It doesn't buckle either as it has no memory effect. Especially for those who like to give it a go themselves and DIY experts of all kinds, polyester tape is recommended as an optimal working material in any situation. Whether for retrofitting or new construction with many corners and bends – polyester tape passes through everywhere easily!

Work safely just like the pros: With system technology from Klauke

With tools and materials from Klauke, the user can, as always, rely on the system advantage. From suitable cable drums to lubricants, we have everything you need. The spring guide head is highly recommended. It compensates for the typical rotations that occur when the cable is guided through the pipes, so that the cable retractable is not twisted as much.

Here you can find all products related to cable pulling technology:

  10. Klauke review of the year 2022
    9 February 2023

And yet another year has gone by. 2022 also flew by for us. We have reviewed the year and listed past events, campaigns and new products.

One product innovation was the K 507 WF pressing tool, which was launched in summer 2022. The tool covers 0.5 to 50 mm² and is equipped with exchangeable crimping dies. It works with dies that are wide enough so that a single crimp is sufficient for most ferrules. Due to the unique square shaped crimp profile, very good pull-out values are achieved. So it's a real all-rounder when it comes to crimping wire-end ferrules! You can find videos about our K 507 WF here:

K 507 WF: New crimping tool

K 507 WF: Crimping of wire end ferrules

K 507 WF: Changing of crimping dies

Trade fairs were not to be missed in 2022. Among other things, we were at the Get Nord in Hamburg (Germany), at the Sonepar Partner Meeting in Salzburg (Austria), at the Rexel Expo in Paris (France), at the Installer Show and at Rail Live 2022 in Birmingham (Great Britain) as well as at the SPS Italia in Parma (Italy). We were also busy with product training at the customer's site as well as online.

Our web shop, where you can find merchandise products as well as cool Klauke clothing, has been given a new design and now appears more clearly arranged. Take a look, maybe there is something for you: web shop.

If you haven't subscribed to our newsletter yet, you should definitely do so: we shared a lot of interesting products and exciting industry news in 2022 and also held some raffles: a Klauke Micro EK 50 ML, a K 507 WF crimping tool and Klauke winter hats.

On our Instagram accounts @klauke.deutschland and @klauke.europe we held a Klauke tester promotion where we selected ten testers for Germany and eight testers for the UK. The lucky testers received an EK WF 120 ML crimping tool or an EK 30 ID ML crimping tool to put it through its paces and share their content with us. Afterwards, they were of course allowed to keep the tool. We also launched a tester campaign in France @klauke_france at the end of 2022, where testers could receive an EK WF 120 ML crimping tool, a Klauke Micro EK 50 ML or a Klauke K32 TWIST-it. This campaign is currently still running.

Another Instagram highlight was the #lustaufhandwerk event in Germany. The goals of the campaign are to connect companies and trades, to show the values of craftsmanship and to inspire young people for the trades.

If you want to get more highlights of our review, please have a look here.

We look forward to many product launches, events and happenings in the new year 2023!

Klauke review of the year 2022
  11. Rockid.one - Klauke apprentices involved in STEM education
    10 January 2023

Nowadays the world is going through continuous digital transformation. For almost all our daily activities, there's an app meant to make our life easier and stress-free. That's why we support kids learning about digital media and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) from a young age.

From November 2022 to this month, six Klauke apprentices are taking part in a project run by ROCKID e.V. The project aims to teach schoolchildren how to tackle technology and how to use devices like tablets and laptops. Furthermore, the trainees teach children about the legal rights to photos and videos taken on these devices, how browsers and apps work and which child-friendly search engine alternatives exist. At the end of the project, they also plan to remotely control a robot.

During the first lessons, children learned all about the functions of an iPad camera and how to easily edit pictures and import pictures. The next lessons focused on the internet: what it is, what devices they can connect to the internet and how to safely browse search engines to find the needed information. The students also worked on different modules on the website internet-abc to better understand the topic.

Last, but not least, all the focus was on the DASH robot. The students learned to control it via an app and control the robot through parkour. Some students have already had experiences with technical devices, but for many, these lessons were completely new.

We were curious to see what our Klauke trainees think about the Rockid.one project, so we asked them a few questions.

What was your impression of the project?

    Kimberly G.

"As the project is coming to an end now, I believe it was a nice experience to be a part of. The students were very excited about the program, and we were able to get everyone interested in the different lessons we had. It's a good thing because, at the age when students are gradually getting more and more involved with the Internet, they must be educated about their privacy and rights."

    Tanja D.

"The project is not finished yet, but so far I found it very exciting. On one hand, it is exciting for the children, who experienced a very interesting and contemporary form of teaching. On the other hand, we as trainees learned to speak up in front of the class, had to prepare for the lessons and learned how to deal with children of that age."

What did you enjoy the most?

    Kimberly G.

"Everything was fun. The best part was seeing that the children were so curious to see what exactly we were doing. Plus, they participated very well each time and showed a lot of interest."

    Bojan B.

"I personally enjoyed the interaction with the kids and the visible progress after several lessons. Most of all, it was nice seeing the happiness of the kids as well as the gratefulness of the teachers."

Would you participate in a project like this again?

    Kimberly G.

"Definitely. I always enjoy working with other people. In this case, teaching the children many new things was very important."

    Kimberly S.

"I would do the project again as it is a good thing for the kids."

    Bojan B.

"I would do the project again because I personally enjoyed a lot the interaction with the children."

    Tanja D.

"I would also like to be in a project like this again because it was a lot of fun for us and for the children."

We are happy that our apprentices enjoyed this project and had fun teaching the children digital things very important nowadays.

  12. A week on the road with Peter Nowak
    10 January 2023

Peter Nowak, our Customer Training Specialist, is part of the Klauke team for almost 9 years now. Peter is very active; when he's not in the Klauke Training Center in Remscheid, he's either travelling to train customers and business partners or in front of the camera, getting ready for an Instagram live session. As he does so many things, his working days and weeks are very diverse. Curious about what a working week looks like for an expert tools trainer? Let's have a look over one of Peter's working weeks in August.

    Monday

On Monday the main event on the agenda was a @klauke.deutschland Instagram Live. These Instagram Live sessions take place every month, at 7:00 pm. Peter's home office, from where he streams the live sessions, looks like a workshop, full of tools, ferrules, cable lugs, catalogues and posters. With the new K 507 WF crimping tool in focus, Peter defined the schedule of the live video and carefully labelled all the tools, and ferrules he needed. At 7:00 pm, the Instagram Live video started. It was a total success and a lucky participant won a Klauke K 507 WF at the end of the session. How exciting!

    Tuesday

The next day, Peter packed all the tools he used for the Instagram Live Video and loaded his car, getting it ready for a trip to Lübeck, Germany. Approximately 190 kg of tools were packed and prepared for the next day's trip. The rest of the day was filled with regular tasks and planning for the next day's training.

    Wednesday

On Wednesday, Peter travelled to Lübeck together with Florian Hensel, one of our colleagues in the German sales team. Usually, product trainings are held for 5 - 10 people and the topics are discussed individually with the customer. Usually, the topics "Copper connection technology", "Aluminum connection technology" and "Wire end ferrules" are the most requested ones. This training was held for the internal sales team and the customers of Adalbert Zajadacz and the focus was on the new K 507 WF crimping tool and the EK WF 120 ML battery-powered hydraulic crimping tool. As the training was over, Peter packed up the tools while Florian answered all the questions. As the day was not over, they travelled 50 km further to Oldenburg, in Holstein, to a vocational training center that also wanted Klauke training.

    Thursday

On Thursday, Peter and Florian were back in Lübeck to attend the Zajadacz ToolTech trade fair and meet all companies which were part of the exhibition. The fair was an exclusive one, only for the Zajadacz customers. The day ended with a well-deserved BBQ dinner and networking.

    Friday

On Friday, Peter traveller to Heinsberg, at the Elektro Jansen company, together with Christian Herzog, another colleague from the German sales team. The training was held for 65 employees and the main topics discussed were "copper connecting material" and "wire end ferrules". We were not surprised by the WOW reaction on all the participants' faces when they saw the 1,000 mm² compression cable lug. This cable lug is shown during almost all training sessions and it brings the same enthusiastic reaction all the time.

  15. New In the Klauke Product Range: Crimping Tool K507 WF
    12 September 2022

In the electricity field a job is done right when it’s done safely. Having at hand ergonomic tools you can always count on makes the difference and always increases efficiency.

Crimping wire ferrules quickly and more easily

Crimping wire ferrules can be a demanding task – who hasn't experienced situations when a single crimping operation doesn't get the job done? The new K507 WF from Klauke makes that frustration a thing of the past.

The crimping tool features very good pull-out values. Whether stranded or straight conductors, thick or thin real cross-sections – this tool can handle everything. It works with wide crimping dies, so a single crimp is enough to securely press most wire ferrules.

Another practical advantage for your daily work is that the K507 WF lets you easily pre-clamp workpieces, which facilitates your work even more. Simply insert the sleeve beforehand into the tool – this way you don't need any "third hand”. Weighing in at only 657 grams, the tool is very lightweight and suitable even for the most confined spaces.

The new K507 WF also lets you easily handle all standard conductors from 0.5 to 50 mm². The crimping dies can be securely stowed inside the tool handle, so while working you always have everything you need at hand.

Do you have a Klauke Micro in your toolbox? Good news! You can use the K507 crimping dies for your Klauke Micro as well!

  19. EK30IDML indent crimping tool makes life easy
    9 June 2022

If you are looking to simplify your crimping operation on copper cable lugs then look no further than the new compact indent crimping tool from Klauke. Suitable for crimping from 6mm2 through to 120mm2 on stranded (class 2), flexible (class 5) and super-flex (class 6) cables.

It’s compact design with ergonomic soft grips means working in tight spaces becomes a quick and easy process. Powered by a 10.8V, 1.5Ah rechargeable Li-Ion battery means there is plenty of power to see you through a complete workday. An integrated LED work light helps to provide clear visibility in dark panels or enclosures. Its impressive to think that such a powerful tool can be designed into such a small housing and weigh in at less than 2Kg including the battery.

Multiple cable lug types are also not a problem. Standard tubular cable lugs of the L-series, or larger tubular connectors with flared entry barrels (F-type), or even sheet metal solderless cable lugs up to 95mm2 can be crimped successfully.

This new addition to the Klauke ‘ML’ range complements the already well-known Micro tool and Cable cutting tools operating on the same battery platform.

  20. Klauke EKWF120ML boot-lace ferrule crimping tool
    9 June 2022

The newly developed battery powered hydraulic crimping tool, EKWF120 ML will simplify your work and simultaneously ensure optimum crimping quality. Using a square-cam mechanism, the EKWF120ML crimps both DIN-compliant wire ferrules as well as insulated wire ferrules. The square mechanism adjusts flexibly to the respective cable end sleeve making the use of interchangeable crimping dies unnecessary. In addition, precision-fit crimping using comb-shaped jaws provides optimised distribution of forces and embeds the conductor in a corrugated shape.

The result is perfect working results over the entire range of wire ferrules shapes and all cross-sections from 6 to 120mm² can be crimped using the EKWF120ML. A wire ferrule length of 32mm only requires one crimping action meaning most wire ferrules can be crimped in the cross-section range in just a single step.

This optimum solution has been developed for overcoming the challenge of crimping the entire range of cables encountered in control cabinet construction and mechanical engineering. The flexible type of crimping using the comb-shaped jaws ensures optimum results even with the use of old cables, providing a uniform solution for a wide range of conductors.

  21. Klauke Orange: Innovation increases safety
    21 January 2020

    Globally unique

Our new Klauke Orange tools are the first of their kind in the world with a patent pending design that protects the operator against electric shocks up to 1000 V. The insulation barrier, which we developed in-house, prevents voltage discharging between tool head and base. Our battery-hydraulic cutting and crimping tools are VDE and type-approved and certified according to IEC 62841-1 and tested for applicable parts of IEC 60900. In addition, every single Orange tool undergoes a dielectric test as part of our production process.

    Improved occupational safety

In certain sectors, working on live parts in the low-voltage range of up to 1000 V is part and parcel of day-to-day-work. Until now, such tasks have required the use of insulated hand tools. In tight work areas, or when precision is required, the mere use of force required to operate insulated manual hand tools and the associated space required pose a safety hazard.

With the new Orange tools, we now offer for the first time battery powered cutting and crimping tools that can significantly reduce the operator's required force and improve precision and safety in these hazardous working conditions.

    The better choice

Often, electrical systems cannot be de-energised or disconnected, so there’s no avoiding working on live cables. This is where our Orange Line battery powered crimping and cutting tools significantly increase operating comfort and protection. They are suitable for all applications in the low-voltage range up to 1000 V: from the installation of sleeves and working on overhead power lines to mounting and repairing street lighting or meter systems.

Tried and proven functions are retained

The proven features of our Next Generation are retained. This gives you all information at a glance thanks to the integrated display. Orange Line tools also have a continuously rotating tool head.

  22. Bake cookies together for a good cause!
    20 January 2020

Klauke Aktiv is a series of events under which we organize events from employees for employees.

At the end of 2019 there were two events of our "Klauke Aktiv" community - our Christmas cookies baking together with the children of the Evangelische Jugendhilfe Bergisch Land under the motto "Klauke Aktiv - Sozial" and our cozy Christmas get-together for a drink at the Remscheid Christmas market!

Both events were very popular and the children from the homes were visibly enthusiastic. At the beginning of the cookie baking, our Chairman Fred Pond addressed all participants in a few words. Then we started baking. When the cookies were prepared and baked in the oven, many inquisitive children, divided into two groups, were thrilled to take a tour of the Klauke production. Finally, of course, there was the much-awaited cookie snack as well as the award for the best cookie recipe. The “Moroccan Almond Cookies” recipe won. The remaining cookies were made available to the children's home and each child received a gift bag. In retrospect, both events were completely successful.

  23. It is very Christmas - also for our former employees
    20 January 2020

As every year in 2019, our former employees who are in their well-deserved retirement were invited to celebrate Christmas with us. On Monday of week 51 everyone met for a Bergisch coffee with waffles and liver sausage bread. Those who wanted could take part in a factory tour beforehand. In this way, the connection to the former workplace remains intact over the years. In the end, everyone agreed: “As always, it was nice and successful. And next year - we'll see each other again and talk a little bit! ”To make this wish come true, we would like to wish everyone a happy holiday, good health and a good transition to 2020.

  24. Worlds first 1000V VDE insulated battery powered hydraulic tools!!
    5 April 2019

Klauke has again set the standard when it comes to innovation and safety in the power cable termination market. The new Orange line of cable cutting and compression tools has been carefully developed in the R&D department in Remscheid, Germany, and thoroughly tested by VDE for a voltage withstand of 10,000 volts for safe working at 1,000 volts. The new range provides every cable jointer, lineman or contractor with an added layer of safety from electric shock.

The design of the Orange line has created an insulation barrier between the working blades/ jaws and the body of the tool. If a power cable becomes live, or the wrong cable has been identified, then the new Orange line will add a further layer of protection against electric shock.

Included in the new range are cable cutters up to 50mm dia, which can cut different cable constructions including steel wire armour, and crimping tools up to 300mm2 Cu and Al.
