3D Printing
An ever growing area of industry, we like to pride ourselves on staying at the cutting edge of technology. Focusing on high precision SLA and cost effective FDM machinery.
What is suitable for 3D printing?
3D printing used to only suit prototyping due to cost and time restrictions. New technologies have broken through this barrier and now batch and even mass production component are being 3D printed. The technology can now compete with injection moulding for costs whilst offering flexibility and adaptability without spending thousands on mould modifications and re-tooling.
Depending on material selection it is possible for prints to rival:
Aluminium/Steel - Tensile, bend and impact strength.
Carbon Fibre - Weight
We can print in a vast range of materials to suit all of your needs:
- Metals - FDM
- Stainless Steel
- Aluminium
- Brass
- Bronze
- Plastics - FDM
- PLA
- ABS
- Carbon Fibre
- PET-G
- POM
- Nylon
- Resins - SLA
- Castable
- Flexible
- Printed for Casting
We now have a special service for manufacturing reusable casting blanks. 3D printing the product in Carbon Fibre then applying a very smooth, enamel coating all at an affordable price.
Still unsure?
If you are unsure of which type of print method, material, machine or even if 3D printing is a service you could use, we are happy to help and can instruct/advise.
Laser Cutting
We offer affordable laser cutting and etching solutions.
Materials
We can cut and etch on virtually any surface. Below is a list of common material we can cut with a thickness limit:
Metals
- Mild Steel - Up to 18mm
- Stainless Steel - Up to 8mm
- Aluminium - Up to 6mm
- Copper - Up to 6mm
- Brass - Up to 6mm
Plastics
- Acrylic - 30mm
- Polypropelene - 30mm
- Polycarbonate - 30mm
Other
- Wood - 20mm
- Glass - 5mm
CAD - Computer Aided Design
From small alterations of files to complete projects, and everything in between. With 12 years of experience and a Masters in Engineering, your design work is in safe hands.
We are capable of:
- Producing solid and mesh 3D files (ipt, STEP, Catia, STL, OBJ, etc)
- Producing engineering drawings (dwg, DFX, pdf, etc)
- Determine weights and volumes of components and assemblies
- FEA - Finite Element Analysis
- Motion/Movement modeling - simulate mechanics of components
Part Replication
If you need more of a part you already have, or need some alterations to a part, we can CAD and make more of them for you.
FEA
Finite Element Analysis is used to simulate an objects behaviour under given conditions. This can save time and the expense of testing prototypes. The simulation also allows for easy examination to determine weak areas as well as highlighting areas under little or no load, allowing for possible material and therefore weight reduction.
Motion/Movement
Once your CAD files are created or imported, we can constrain them and model their movement to show how they will function. This can be useful for presentations or even to see tolerance fits.
