There is probably no other piece of office furniture which is available in such a wide variety as chairs and seating. Office chairs are available in wooden form, metallic form, and those made of plastic and fibre. There are also hybrid versions which use two or more than two types of material. Office chairs can come with arm rests or without arm rests, may be mid back, high back or low back, may be adjustable or non-adjustable, can be with wheels or without wheels. A chair is one of the most important pieces of office furniture as a worker spends most of his time in his chair. A wrong choice can affect one’s health, and the wrong type of chairs are the most cited reason for back and joint pain which affects many office workers. Chairs have evolved a lot over time, and modern office chairs have been specifically designed for long usage upwards of 8 hours per day.
